Ever felt like your prayer life was just...hum-drum? Like your prayers weren't reaching any higher than the ceiling? I've been there. Fortunately, I've got a few tips and a resource that can help you get creative and confident in your prayers. Read on to find out more!

1) Write your prayers in a journaling Bible. One of the best ways that I've found to draw closer to the Lord in prayer is by writing my thoughts in the margins of my Bible. One of the benefits is going back to it at a later date to see where God was and is working in that situation.

2) Pray the Bible. The Bible itself is a powerful tool to use in prayer. There are prayers of praise, repentance, and supplication found throughout God's Word, and you can model your conversations with God after them.

3) Pray through song. I've often found myself in a worship setting voicing my needs during the music portion of the service. It may be a "thank You Lord" or a "I need thee every hour". Regardless, I know God hears even when my heart sings to Him.

4) Keep your prayers in a journal. This is a little different than writing them in your Bible. A journal is much more intimate and private, and there's less likely of a chance for someone to see it. Journaling is a good way to pour your heart out, especially when you're unable to outwardly express your prayers.

One of my favorite journals that I use regularly is the Abundant Grace Prayer Journal. This journal is filled with my joys and sorrows as I grow closer in my walk with Jesus.

It offers a space for you to write your thoughts and prayers, as well as a tangible opportunity to meditate on God's grace and what He has done for you.

This journal is perfect for those starting out in the faith or just need a little oomph in their prayer life.
