6 Creative Ways To Supercharge Your Faith In 2023

The new year often calls for new goals and resolutions. Weight loss, travel plans, and mental health improvement are among the top priorities. But have you thought about how you can draw closer to God in the new year? I have a few creative ideas on how you can supercharge your faith in 2023. I will have a free download available at the end that you can print out.

1) Journal your prayers in your Bible. Ever come across a verse or a passage that cut right to the heart? Did it ever touch directly to the situation you had going on? That would be a good time to write in the margin or grab a sticky note and write a prayer. Interacting with God’s Word can be instrumental in deepening your faith.

2) Study the stories behind your favorite hymns and worship songs. Often worship songs and hymns have a beautiful testimony behind them. We can learn so much about God just by studying these songs.

3) Play a worship song before your Bible study. One thing my pastor stresses a lot in his sermons is preparing our hearts before worship and Bible study. That is why we do music sessions before he preaches. Godly music will prepare us and open our hearts to God’s message.

4) Delve into the history of our Bible and where it came from. How can we truly understand something if we don’t know where it came from? It’s the same with the Bible. Take up a crash course or research it. There’s so much to learn, from the original manuscripts to translations and versions to denominational differences.

5) Try verse mapping. Verse mapping has increasingly become popular over the past few years. I myself have found it fun and useful. You can unpack so much from one verse and still not scratch the surface. Start with John 3:16, and you’ll cut to the heart of the gospel.

6) Study the Apostle’s Creed. The Creed is one of the most profound and deep aspects of our faith. Written hundreds of years ago, it still inspires Christians all around the world to think about what they believe and why they believe. It also inspires sound theology and teaching.
